Ways to simplify mummy life

Being a first-time mum can be difficult especially when you have no idea what you are doing. With myself before I had my baby overthinking was my downfall. I thought of every possible scenario that could go wrong. When my baby was born I took each step as it came and eventually found my feet. I’m going to share with you the route I took to simplify mummy life.      .

Don’t overthink everything

With this one its easier said than done as this was my biggest downfall. What I did realise though is no matter how much you think on a situation life will always take its course. You have to encourage yourself and tell yourself that “I can do it” no matter how hard a situation gets. Always have a positive mind set and think positive. After realising this it made me start to notice that being a mum is only as hard as you make it.

Talk to people

Having support around you is very important as doing It on your own as a first-time mum can make you flustered. Whether you are a single mum or in a relationship it’s always good to have someone there to confine in and ask for advice.  As a mum you will always know best but sometimes you need to just sit down and talk and let everything out. Try to avoid holding things in as you want to be able to feel you can express yourself. Being able to talk things out while being a mum will feel like a weight is being lifted off your shoulder.

Have some you time

Having time alone is key as being a full-time mum you can easily forget to take care of yourself. Everyone needs time for themselves to feel alive. Even if it is just for a few hours that week to get someone to watch the baby while you have some alone time. As a mum alone time made me feel re energised and ready to go.

Have a routine

Now I know everyone has their way of parenting however, I find with routines it has helped me a lot in making mummy life a lot easier. With routines you have set times when your baby eats and sleeps. As a first time mum it can allow you to get things done in between. If you want to know more about my routine I have with my baby, take a look at one of my previous blogs.

Be organised

This one comes along side having a routine. Organisation can allow your day to run smoothly. Getting things prepared in advance and having set days to do tasks. For example, I choose weekends to do all my laundry that way everyone knows what days laundry days are. Also, is in the mornings I have my baby’s bottle with boiled water in and his powder next to me. This is there ready for when he wakes up in the morning.

I hope you found my tips helpful. Don’t forget to leave your comments below and share your opinions on how you make mummy life easier for you.
